Dr. Sarah Mulholland, School Medical Officer of the Wellington and Wairarapa districts, is visiting Pahiatua. Mrs W. Wardell, Masterton, visited Hastings this week for the wedding of her nephew, Mr Brian Armstrong.
Mrs R. Dawson, of Essex Street, who had lived for many years in Masterton left yesterday to take up her residence in Wellington. At Pahiatuia on Tuesday the death occurred of Mrs Alice Pearcey, relict of Mr Charles Pearcey, at the age of 66 years. At St. Matthew’s Church, Hastings, on Wednesday night, Miss Janet Mary Groome, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Ernest Groome, Te Onepu, Otane, was married to Mr Brian Douglas Armstrong, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Armstrong, Akitio. The death has occurred in Hastings of Mrs Ada Louisa Wotherspoon. Born in Rissington 73 years ago, Mrs Wotherspoon had lived in the district all her life, and her younger days were associated with the troublesome times of the Maori War. She was one of few white women who had seen Te Kooti.
