WHOLEMEAL AND DATE MUFFINS. Sift 1 cup wholemeal flour and 1 cup plain white flour, 2 heaped teaspoons baking-powder, and i level teaspoon salt. Melt 3 level tablespoons margarine, add 1 cup milk and 1 beaten egg. To dry ingredients add 1 cup chopped I dates or raisins, 1 cup chopped walnuts, and 2 level tablespoons sugar. Make a bay in centre, pour in liquid and stir until well blended. Pour into well greased and floured muffin or patty tins and bake in a hot. oven for 20 minutes. Butter and serve hot.
