WAR IN AFRICA
RAIDS INTO ABYSSINIA ITALIAN AIRCRAFT DESTROYED. ENEMY ATTACKS ON KENYA. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) RUGBY, September 25. A communique, issued at Nairobi on Wednesday, states: “Aircraft of the South African Air Force successfully raided the Sciasciamanna Aerodrome in Abyssinia, for the third time in the past fortnight. Heavy bombs fell on the aerodrome and one Italian aircraft on the ground was destroyed. “Normal reconnaissances were carried out by other aircraft. All the machines returned safely. “Italian aircraft attempted two raids in Kenya on Monday, one at Wajir and one in the Tana River area. No damage was done, but there were a few casualties.”
