PERSONAL

Mr B. V. Bodie, of Masterton, is visiting Auckland on business. The Hon D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Supply, left Wellington yesterday for Wanganui and the Taranaki district. Lieutenant L. D. Wales, Staff Ser-geant-Major C. E. Rogers, Staff-Ser-geant J. Robinson and Private H. C. Stewart left Masterton on Monday as portion of the advance party for the Territorial camp at Dannevirke. The Hon A.’ Hamilton, member of the War Cabinet, returned to Wellington yesterday from the South Island. He will attend the funeral in Waipawa this afternoon of Mr A. E. Jull, and return to Wellington later in the day. Mr F. G. Farrell has been nominated unopposed as president of the Automobile Association (Auckland) for a fifth term, and the appointment will be confirmed at the annual meeting. He has been a member of the association for 30 years, and has served on the council since 1920. Mr L. Stewart, who has been on the staff at St Andrew’s College, Christchurch, fox- about 20 years, will be headmastex- during the absence of Lieu-tenant-Colonel J. B. Mawson in the military forces. Mi- Stewart served with the Royal Air Force in the Great War.

The following appointments and promotions were approved at last nights meeting of the Wellington Harboui- Board:—Chief executive officer, Mr F. W. Reed; secretary and treasurer, Mi- N. J. Oliver; assistant secretary, Mr F. W. Ward; chief clerk, Mr H. W. Prince.

At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation yesterday, Mr B. Sutherland, Wellington, was elected president in succession to Mi- W. Machin, Christchurch. Mr J. A. C. Allum, Auckland, was elected vice-president, and Mi- G. W. Morgan, Wellington, was re-elected treasurer.
