REDUCTION IN NEW ZEALAND SERVICE. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) TOKIO.. September 24. The O. E. Akashosen and Yamashita shipping companies are cutting out half of the vessels in the New Zealand service, this being due to declining cargoes, plus more necessary use of ships elsewhere. The Foreign Office has issued a statement of a Japanese-Brazilian cultural treaty, concluded on Monday at Rio De Janeiro, for the purpose of “accelerating interest in each others culture.” It is similar to last year’s Ital-ian-Japanese agreement.
