JAPANESE PROTEST
AGAINST SINGAPORE ARRESTS DEMAND FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TALK OF NATIONAL AFFRONT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) TOKIO, September 23. The Associated Press of Great Britain reports that the Foreign Office announced that it had directed the Japanese Consul-General at Singapore to protest strongly against the arrest of six Japanese. He was to demand their immediate release, one being a member of the Consular staff. The Domei Agency called the British action, in making the arrests, a national affont and connected the incident with proposals to give the United States fleet facilities at Singapore.
