PHYSICAL TRAINING

EXTENSION IN SCHOOLS. STATEMENT BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Physical training is to assume much greater importance in the lives of school children in the near future, according to the Minister of Education (Mr Mason), who returned to Christchurch today after an extensive tour of the South Island.

Details of the scheme under consideration were not yet available, said the Minister, who predicted development of physical training on a scale that would completely overshadow all previous efforts. Instructors to undertake this work were now receiving special training.
