MAINE ELECTIONS
REPUBLICANS IN LEAD. IN FIVE MAJOR CONTESTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) PORTLAND (Maine), Sept. 10. The Republicans arc leading the Democrats in Maine by at least two to one in all the five major contests. The Republican chairman (Mr Martin) in a statement says the Maine election returns definitely herald the end of the Roosevelt administration, indicating the election of Mr Wendell Willkie in November and a Republican majority in the House.
