BEAULIVRE & BEAU VITE

MATCH RACE CALLED OFF. ALTERNATIVE TEST SUGGESTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day. 9.0 a.m.) SYDNEY, September 10. The match race between Beaulivre and Beau Vite has suddenly been declared off by the committee controlling the Red Cross races on September 21, which reconsidered the matter today (it is believed in consultation with the A.J.C.) and the announcemtnt was made tonight. Abandonment of the fixture is due to a desire not to jeopardise the prospects of important, engagements of either horse at the forthcoming spring racing campaign. The committee, in expressing appreciation of the spontaneous offer of Messrs E. C. Harnett' and R. Stewart to provide a match race, announced that in lieu thereof £5OO would be added to the Hill Stakes, in which it is expected Beaulivre and Beau Vite will participate, and will be subjected to a test.
