SIXTY OR SEVENTY BOMBS DROPPED ON HAMBURG ONLY DWELLING HOUSES HIT. R.A.F. CALLED COWARDLY. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, September’ 9. The German radio, describing the R.A.F. raid on Hamburg, says between GO and 70 bombs fell, destroying 30 dwelling houses. No military objectives were hit. The British also bombed residential districts of Kiel and Lueneberg. “The British Air Force,” the broadcost adds, “too weak and cowardly to meet the German in open battle, restricts itself to defence and to night attacks against Germany.” KING’S SYMPATHY MESSAGE TO THE LONDON ' COUNTY COUNCIL. (Received This Day, 1.0 p.m.) LONDON, September 9. His Majesty has sent a message, to Mr Emil Davies, chairman of the London County Council, expressing the distress with which he has heard news of the air raids of September 7, and added that the suffering people in London and elsewhere were much in his thoughts. Mr Davies, acknowledging the message, assured his Majesty that the people remained constant in their loyalty and fortitude.
