FIFTY-FOUR NAZI PLANES DESTROYED SEVENTEEN BRITISH FIGHTERS LOST. BUT TWELVE PILOTS SAVED. (British Official Wireless.) 1 (Received his Day, 11.5 a.m.) RUGBY, September 5. It is officially announced that in destroying 54 enemy aircraft yesterday the British lost 17 fighters. All except five of the British pilots were saved.
