SOVIET LEAD
FOLLOWED' BY HUNGARY
STATEMENT BY COUNT
CSAKY
TRIBUTE TO MUSSOLINI AND HITLER.
AS “STATESMEN OF GENIUS.
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) BUDAPEST, September 4.
Count Csaky, foreign-minister, in a speech to Parliament on the Vienna award, said the Soviet had begun the process of recovering national territories, which Hungary was oloiiged to follow for the sake of the Hungarians in Transylvania. The Axis Powers had announced that a conflict between Rumania and Hungary would be inopportune.
Count Csaky added that Mussolini and Herr Hitler had not worked only for Italy and Germany. The whole of Europe ought to show gratitude to these statesmen of genius. Hungarians would never forget what they had done. Hungary sincerely hoped that the settlement would open an era of friendship with Rumania and promised a generous treatment of Rumanian subjects.
