MINIATURE RIFLES WEEKLY COMPETITIONS. (“Times-Age" Special.) DeLacgy, 93. GOLF DRAW FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS. The following is the draw for the semi-finals of the men's championships:— Senior: George v. Steel and Dudson v. Fisher. Junior: Beaven v. Barrett and Barr v. Callender. The remaining members will play the second of three bogey rounds, the draw being as follows:—

Campbell; Mrs Candy and Mrs Harrington. Juniors: Mrs Murray and Mrs Dwane; Mrs Colson and Miss Freer. Daffodil Day. Saturday, September 14, will be the annual Daffodil Day at Middle Run, Carterton, in aid of funds for the Carterton Plunket Society. Owing to an early spring, the flowers have come away in splendid style and by September 14 should be at their best. At the present time there is a glorious display of daffodils and the annual display provided by Mr and Mrs W. Henry Booth in aid of the Plunket Society is always looked forward to by lovers of choice bulbs. Personal Items. The funeral of the late Mrs Annie Alice Waterson took place yesterday afternoon at the Masterton Cemetery where there was a very large cortege. Before the funeral left her late residence a short service was conducted by the Rev. W. F. Stent, Vicar of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, who afterwards officiated at the service at the graveside. The pall-bearers were Messrs R. Conwell, L. J. Fairbrother, J Bond, H. Bassett, C. Sunkel and M. J. Parker, the latter three being members of the Druids’ Lodge. Many beautiful wreaths were received testifying to the high esteem in which the deceased was held. T. G. Macarthy Trust. The Brigidine Convent, Carterton (£35) and the Carterton Plunket Society (£45) have received grants from the T. G. Macarthy trust. Rainfall for August. Mr .1. A. Roberts, Carrington, reports that the rainfall in August was 4.61 inches, the heaviest fall being on August 23 when 80 points fell. It rained on 15 days and the total rainfall to date this year amounts to 30.37 inches. (' Redmond Football Cup. The Redmond Cup game. Greytown v.
