DECKS & MASTS BLASTED OFF « ATTACK BY GERMAN BOMBERS. STORY TOLD BY CAPTAIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.5 p.m.) LONDON, September 3. The Eirean ship Loch Ryan arrived in port with her decks and masts blasted off by bombs. The owner, Captain James Nolan, said: “Three German planes raked us from a low height with gunfire and then dropped six bombs. One exploded in the cargo. We thought the sides of the ship must be blown out. Another bomb demolished the deck houses.”
