NOT YET PASSED

DANGER OF INVASION MR EDEN’S WARNING. BUT BRITAIN IN STRONG POSITION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON. September 3. The Secretary for War, Mr Anthony Eden, in a speech, said it would be foolish to suppose that the danger of invasion had passed. “There is not a shred of evidence,” he said, “that Hitler has abandoned his intention to subdue Britain by invasion. August in many respects was the best month of the fighting year and our position in some ways is the most enviable in our history. There are times when it is good to stand alone, especially when you know you are not going to stand alone forever.”
