NAZI SPOKESMAN BLAMES MR CHURCHILL. LONDON, September 2. Commenting in Ottawa on the torpedoing of the ship carrying British children to Canada, the Prime Minister. Mr Mackenzie King, said: “This German action will fill the minds of all humane people with horror.” A spokesman in Berlin said: “Obviously. Germany, which loves children and wants to care for them, is not interested in the business of sinking children's refugee ships.” The spokesman also recalled Dr Goebbels' table about Mr Churchill sinking the Athenia.
