WAGES, COSTS AND PRICES.

CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN WELLINGTON.

The organisations to be represented at the conference arranged by the Government to consider the possibility of stabilising wages, costs and prices in New Zealand were announced on Saturday by the Prime Minister, Mr Frassr. The conference, which will be held in Parliament Buildings, is to betin on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister will preside. He stated on Saturday that the names of all the delegates were not yet available, but representation of a wide variety of important interests was being given as follows:—New Zealand Farmers' Union (three delegates), New Zealand Sheepowners’ Federation (two), New Zealand Dairy Industry Council (two), New Zealand Manufacturers Federation (three), New Zealand Employers Federation (three), Associated Chambers of Commerce (two), New Zealand Shipowners’ Federation (one). New Zealand Coalmine Owners' Association (one). New Zealand Federation of Labour (7), other trade union organisations (13).

In addition to the Prime Minister, the Government will be represented by the Minister of Finance. Mr Nash; the Minister of Supply, Mr Sullivan; the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Lee Marin, and any other Ministers whose presence might be required. Messrs A. T. Donnelly, chairman of the Bank of New Zealand, and Mr Chalmers, general manager, will also be present.
