INFANT’S DEATH
DROWNED IN WATER-RACE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
ASHBURTON. September 1
Arthur Sowden, the 14 months' son of Mr and Mrs J. Sowden, was drowned on Saturday afternoon in a waterrace on Mr G. S. Campbell’s farm at Rakeby, where the parents are employed. The child followed his father to a nearby shed and was missed 10 minutes later. The muddiness of the race lengthened the search. Artificial respiration was unsuccesssful.
