WAR EXPENDITURE
BIG FIGURES IN CANADA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) OTTAWA, August 31. The Ministry of Munitions and Supply announced that war expenditure and commitments had passed the 550,-000,000-dollar mark, of which 165,000,000 dollars was for the erection or enlargement of industries. Simultaneously it was announced that the Packard Company had been awarded a contract of 2,580,000 dollars for aeroplane engines.
