ODD FELLOWS’ LODGE
DANCE ON SEPTEMBER 7. The Masterton Odd Fellows’ Lodge has decided to hold a Patriotic dance in the Municipal Hall, Masterton, on Saturday next, September 7. The whole of the door takings will be donated to the Provincial Patriotic Fund and the Lodge will pay all expenses incurred in holding the dance. A large committee is working hard to ensure the success of the function, which is expected to be one of the most successful of its kind held in the district. The Lodge officers have felt that with the many calls that are being made on the public purse an appeal for donations to the fund for the repatriation of New Zealand soldiers, per medium of the Odd Fellows’ Lodge, should not be made, but instead a function should be organised which would enable citizens to make a donation to the fund in the form of admission to a dance. Mr Frank Pool's Blue River Dance Band has been engaged to provide the music. The duties of M.C. will be carried out by Mr W. Palmer, who has made many other Lodge dances signal successes by his efforts.
