ARRESTS BY JAPANESE
CHARGE AGAINST BRITISH MISSIONARY. AND OIL COMPANY EMPLOYEES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.40 p.m.) PEKING, August 29.
The Japanese at Kalgan arrested a British missionary, Mr Allen Benson. He is charged with espionage and suspected of heading an anti-Japanese society operating in Mongolia. They also arrested over thirty Chinese. The Domei Agency’s Yokohama correspondent says Mr G. L. Holland and 34 employees of the Standard and Vacuum Oil companies have been 'arrested on charges of violating tiheCurrency Control Act.
