MORNING RAIDS

ATTACKS ON ALEXANDRIA & PORT SAID ITALIANS FAIL TO DO DAMAGE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF’S REPORT (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) RUGBY. August 27. An announcement from the Commander-in-Chief in the Mediterranean states that an air raid over Alexandria and Port Said occurred early in the morning. There were no casualties and no damage was done. This is the first air raid Port Said has experienced.

Italian bombers have again been over Alexandria, Daventry reports. They also visited Port Said. There were no casualties and no damage. A R.A.F. communique from Cairo, transmitted by Daventry, states that attacks on objectives in Abyssinia had been resumed. This is the first largescale raid in Abyssinia since the attack on Addis Ababa on August 18.
