Miss B. Welch has returned to Hukanui from a visit to Christchurch. Mrs A. Mason, of Hukanui, is the guest of her sister, Mrs J. Berney, of Eketahuna.

Miss M. H. Lloyd, Wellington, was a guest yesterday at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton.

Mrs E. Horne, Cole Street, Masterton, who has been on a visit to Paekakariki, returned home yesterday.

Miss E. Kent, of Pongaroa, is visiting Feilding, where she is the guest of her sister, Mrs Pickering.

The late Mrs M. M. Pinkerton, who died in Masterton recently, is survived by one son and four daughters, not three daughters as was previously stated, the other daughter being Mrs John McLean, of Rakauroa, Poverty Bay.

The death has occurred of Mrs Josephine Williams, wife of Mr David E. Williams, Ngahere Station. Omakere, Hawke's Bay, at the age of 26. Mrs Williams was formerly Miss Elworthy, Craigmore, T'imaru. She had been in ill-health for some time. Besides her husband she leaves one child.

Mrs Laura Berry, one of Taranaki's old identities, died at Herne Bay, Auckland, at the age of 86. Born at Tataraimaka in 1854, the daughter of James and Grace Bayly. who arrived in New Zealand on September 13. 1841, by the Amelia Thompson, Mrs Berry lived in New Plymouth for many years. During the Maori War in Taranaki she and her parents were sent to the barracks on Marsland Hill. Mrs Berry is survived by eight daughters, and one son. Mr L. D. Berry (Pahiatua).
