HARRIER ACTIVITIES
$ KIATERE CLUB. CARTER-SCRIMSHAW TROPHY. The annual contest fo the CarterScrimshaw trophy was held by the Kiatere Harrier Club on Saturday at Morison's Bush, and was run in perfect conditions.
Alister MacDonald who won the trophy thoroughly deserved his victory. L. Frances ran above form to fill second place. In the junior competition the following was the result —A. Pickett (4.30), 20.40. 1; S. Pickett (3.25), 21.10, 2; F. Sexton (2.25). 21.33, 3. Fastest times—N. Jacobsen 17.30. 1; F. Sexton, 19.28. 2.
The senior competition resulted as follows; —A. L. MacDonald (3.0), 47.45, 1; L. Frances (4.45), 48.25. 2; L. Bird (4.30), 49.21, 3; D. Nelson (3.35), and W. MacDonald (50secs), dead-heat, 49.2. 4. Fastest times —W. MacDonald. 42.17 1; A. L. MacDonald. 42.45, 2; L. Frances, 45.10, 3. D. Nelson, 45.27, 4. Next week's run will be a hares and hounds novelty race for both seniors and juniors, and will start from the Solway Showgrounds at 2.30 p.m.
