The second round of matches in the New Zealand women’s hockey tournament was played under ideal conditions. A Section: Auckland B 4 (Misses Spiers 2, Bilkey 2) beat Ashburton 0; Wellington 3 (Misses Yeatman, Oliver, Green) beat Akitio 0. B section: Auckland A 2 (Miss Spring 2) beat Wanganui 0; Wairarapa 3 (Mrs Maloney, Mrs McCarty and Miss K. Ross), beat Rangitikei 1 (Mrs Hammond); Canterbury, a bye.
In the other games the results were: —A section: Wellington 3. Marlborough 1, Ashburton 2, Akitio 0. B section: Auckland. A 2, Canterbury 2; Rangitikei 1, Wanganui 0.
