MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. Journals in Esperanto from China, Holland, England and Belgium were displayed at the weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club held last evening. Mr A. G. Wiltshire presided over a good attendance of members. The secretary. Mr W. H. King, reported the receipt of a parcel of books, i a gift to the club from Mr G. Gordon, j of Christchurch, who is well known I throughout the world for his talent ?n ; Esperanto literature. A motion of I thanks to the donor was passed unani- i inously. One hour was devoted to Esperanto study, an elementary and advanced class working under the direction cl' the secretary and president, respective- ■ ly. Tlte entertainment session common- j cod with a presentation by Mr N. La- I mont of an original article entitled i "Linvga Studado" (Language Study), I in which, after only seven months ; study, a very sound knowledge of the international language was indicated.'

"The Chinese Postal Service in War Time" was the subject of a brief talk by Mr King, who outlined the highly successful activities of the Chinese postal administration under war conditions. Useful conversation was practised and during the proceedings Mr Lamont gave a reading in Esperanto which was written tit dictation by Mr E. J. Esler and subsequently analysed.
