BRITISH DESTROYER HOSTILE PARTICIPANT IN NARVIK BATTLE. ADMIRALTY ANNOUNCEMENT. The Admiralty report the loss of the destroyer Hostile, which was sunk by an enemy mine, Daventry states. She was a vessel of 1340 tons and was built in 1936. Her normal complement was 145. She took part with the Hardy and others in the first battle of Narvik. SOME CASUALTIES. (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, August 26. The Admiralty has announced that H.M.S. Hostile, under the command of Lieutenant-Commander A. F. Burnell Nugent, was sunk by an enemy mine. There were some casualties.
