WOMEN’S DIVISION
MASTERTON BRANCH MEETING
FUND FOR FIGHTING SERVICES.
There was a good attendance at the last monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union. held in the Rest Room, Mrs C. C. Jackson I president) being in the chair. It was decided to hold a shop day on the first Wednesday in every month to create a war services fund in the branch. On September 4 the shop day would be held in the Women's Division Rest Room, Chilton Building, in aid of Christmas cheer parcels for fighting services overseas. Members of the committee were directed to telephone or write to all members of the branch for support by donations or gifts for the various stalls.
Arrangements were made to send gifts of cakes and tinned goods for supper for the A.N.A. Chib, Wellington. on the first Friday in September. Mesdames Burling and Pike reported that gifts of clothing from the Tiraumea and Mauriceville branches had been sent to the Masterton branch and these, with parcels from the Masterton branch, were sent to the Country Division Sub-Centre of the Red Cross, to be included in its contribution to the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild. A parcel of linen for hospital equipment was received from the Tiraumea branch and was also sent tc the above Red Cross. It was stated that the proposal for the establishment of a Country Girls' Club was being proceeded with and it was hoped to form a strong club shortly in Masterton.
