EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS
STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS. /t (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A statement of accounts for the Centennial Eucharistic Congress, held in Wellington last February, has been issued to the Catholic community of Wellington. On the receipts side the total given is £11,779 11s 7d. One of the chief sources of revenue was Congress membership and sale of badges, which represented £7127 17s 9d from Wellington £576 17s from Dunedin, £402 Is from Auckland, and £291 13s from Christchurch, making a total (with the amount of £443 8s 5d for Congress office) of £BB4l 17s 2d. Other receipts were as follows:—Congress brochure, £333 13s 4d; advertising. £554 12s (id; congress functions. £438 15s; contribution of Maori people. £839 5s 6d; miscellaneous receipts, £424; Catholic pavilion, £2Bl 12s 6d; debit balance, £65 15s 7d. On the payments side, the cost of putting the grounds of St Patrick's College in order is shown as £1532 18s Id; cost cf altar and seating, £1498 Ils 4d; ground amplification and processions, £217 16s 9d; miscellaneous, £4l 0s Id. Other payments were: Congress office. £1056 19s lOd; congress badges, £lOOl 3s: publicity committee, £589 9s Id: hospitality to visiting prelates, £483 4s 6d; functions committee, £530 13s Kid; liturgical committee and choir, £251 17s lOd: transport committee, £2OO 18s lOd; children's committee, £93 9s lid; congress film. £3O; Otaki Maori celebrations, £B6l (>s; Archbishop Redwood Memorial, £367 Is 8d; Catholic pavilion at Centennial Exhibition £2932 Ils Bd.
