HARRIER ACTIVITIES

MASTERTON CLUB JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY P. GREENLEES. Running his best race this season P. Greenlees scored a well-earned win in the junior championship held on Saturday by the Masterton Harrier Club. The race was run over one lap of the championship course, a distance of 3 and 1-8 miles, the conditions being ideal. From a fast start the field remained bunched for the first mile, when D. Wickens took the lead closely. followed by P. Greenlees, with K. Cairns within striking distance. The leaders remained the same until a mile from home when Greenlees put in a determined run to stall off Wickens, going on to win by 150 yards in 19min 31 sec. K. Cairns ran very determinedly to keep in third place all the way.

The seniors held a training run in preparation for the 10-mile championship.
