BORING FOR OIL

DRILLING OF MORERE WELL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE. August 23. The weekly report of the New Zealand Petroleum Co.. Ltd., states that in the Morere well, reaming to the full size of 12.1111, has been completed to 4108 ft. Drilling has been resumed at the present depth of 4115 ft. The formation is hard, sandy shale.

The Midhirst bore has reached a depth of 1815 ft. The bottom is at present in soft sand.
