Mrs B. V. Bodie, of Masterton. is visiting Paraparaumu.

Miss Irvine, Pownall Street, Masterton, has left on a visit to Auckland. Mrs M. E. Bolwell, Wellington, was a guest at the Hotel Midland, Masterton, yesterday. Mrs T. C. Williams and family, Masters Crescent, are Masterton visitors to Wellington.

Mrs G. Thomas, Wellington, stayed at the Hotel Midland, Masterton, recently.

Mrs J. Perry and family, Alfredton, are the guests of Mr and Mrs W. G. Lamb, Herbert Street, Masterton. Mr and Mrs Hart, Wellington, were visitors to Masterton this week. They stayed at the Hotel Midland. Miss B. Miller, Wellington, is spending a holiday with her sister, Mrs H. Cooper, Stronvar, prior to leaving on an extended visit to Sydney. The death occurred at Pahiatua on Thursday of Mrs Edna Laura Gaskin, wife of Mr Matthew Vincent Gaskin, at the age of 19 years. A wedding of interest to Carterton residents will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Anglican Church. Carterion, this evening at 6 o’clock. The contracting parties will be Miss Isla. Doreen Cook, youngest daughter of Mrs E. Cook, of Carterton, and Mr Andrew Paterson.

The death . occurred at Wanganui yesterday of Lady Norah Duigan, wife of Major-General Sir John Duigan, General Officer Commanding the military forces in New Zealand. She leaves three sons, Captain J. Duigan, who is abroad on active service. Lieutenant C. Duigan, Auckland, and Pilot Officer Bryan Duigan, who is in England in the Royal Air Force. Lady Duigan is survived by three sisters, Mrs lan Tedditch (Wanganui), Mrs A. E. Forest (Auckland), and Mrs G. Pinchbeck (Gloucestershire).
