RED STAR FOOTBALL CLUB

FAREWELL GATHERING. PRESENTATIONS TO PROMINENT SUPPORTERS. The members of the Red Star Football Club met at the residence of Mr V. Pinkney, Albert Street, Masterton last night for the purpose of making presentations to Mr and Mrs Pinkney and Miss Shackleton, who have been valued members of the club for many years, and who are leaving Masterton. Mr Pinkney has been appointed to an important position at Paremata. Mr A. Corskie, president of the club, was in the chair, and referred to the excellent service which Mr and Mrs Pinkney and Miss Shackleton had rendered the club for many years. Miss Shackleton had been associated with the club’s activities for over 30 years. The members of the club were indeed sorry to lose the services of such stalwarts and he wished them the best of luck and health in their new spheres. He presented Mr and Mrs Pinkney with an electric hot water jug and Miss Shackleton with a travelling case. Other speakers also referred in appreciative terms to the splendid work Mj.’ and Mrs Pinkney and Miss Shackleton had carried out in the interests of the club over such q long period of years. The recipients suitably replied, expressing regret at severing their connection with a club in which they had been pleased to be associated.
