OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS
TRADE UNION FUNDS (To the Editor.) Sir. —In answer to the secretary of the Trades Council’s reply to my letter published in your issue of Saturday last, will he kindly state which Wellington district unions have lent “considerable” funds to the Government, interest free? He states that the Federation of Labour has lent £5OO. Am I right in stating that the Labour unions’ funds in New Zealand must be well over £lO,OOO? —Yours, etc., TRADE UNIONIST. Masterton, August 20.
The secretary of the Trades Council replies as follows to the above letter: "If ‘Trade Unionist’ will sign his correspondence with his name, I will gladly give him all the information he requires. I do not propose to answer nom-de-plume correspondence.”
