ALFREDTON TALKIES

THURSDAY’S PROGRAMME. At Alfredton the programme on Thursday will be headed by "Mr Dodd Takes the Air.” Kenny Baker plays Mr Dodd. The four new song hits included in this picture are “Remember Me,” “Am I in Love,” ‘Here Comes the Sandman,” and "The Girl You Used to Be." Baker is surrounded by a highclass comedy cast, including Alice Brady (who plays an opera singer and sings "O Mio Fernando”), Frank McHugh (an audacious press agent), Gertrude Michael (a vamp), and Jane Wyman. The story is adapted from that best-selling novel, called “The Crooner.” and concerns a young singer of fair ability who had a throat operation which gave his voice a peculiar something that was different from any other voice in the world. There will be an excellent supporting programme.
