The “Nichi Nichi Shimbun," in an editorial says the adjustment of relations with French Indo-China and the Netherlands East Indies caused by Japan’s southward policy must be most deliberate. However, an opportune time should not be missed. “Indo-China and Netherlands East Indies may consider Japan too easy if the Japanese attitude is too lukewarm " says the paper. “If Japan takes a hesitating attitude, the third Powers will undoubtedly get more chance for shady dealing against Japan.”
