COURSING
1 COOPER CHALLENGE MATCH AND CLUB CONTEST. Arrangements are well in hand for the big day’s coursing at the Akura Plumpton cn Saturday. Good nominations are expected in the cup. and in the banner contest between Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa. while the Maiden Stake will no doubt have a good field. The plumpton has never been in better order, with a splendid green turf that will make for fast and exciting coursing. The hares are expected to run very strongly as the result of the intensive training carried out in the last few weeks. Nominations close today at 5 p.m. The draw will take place at 8.30 p.m. in the Y.M.C.A. A large number of supporters from Hawke s Bay and Wellington are expected to attend the meeting. The club has decided to hold a social and dance on Saturday evening in the Odd Fellows Hall to entertain the visitors. At this gathering the maiden class banner will be presented to the successful club, also the Steve Cooper Challenge Cup. and Maiden Stake prize to the winners.
