TORPEDOED AND SUNK IN ATLANTIC

VESSEL OF 17,000 TONS.

ATTACKED AT NIGHT IN HEAVY SEA.

The Admiralty announce, Daventry states, that the armed merchant cruiser Transylvania, of 17,000 tons, has been torpedoed and sunk by a U-boat in the Atlantic. Three hundred officers and men were saved. The attack was made at night in a heavy sea.
