COSY THEATRE

“.RHYTHM IN THE SADDLE.” The final screening of this splendid Gene Autry western romance takes place this evening. i “TROPIC FURY.” Pictured against the colourful, ac-tion-adventure background of Amazon lubber camps, Universal's "Tropic Fury,” starring Richard Arlen and Andy Devine, will come tomorrow to the Cosy Theatre. In the supportingcast are Beverley Roberts, Samuel S. Hinds, Lupita Tovar and Lou Merrill. Said to be alive with suspense and thrilling dramatic moments. "Tropic Fury.’ reveals a chapter in the plantation strife behind a great rubber monopoly, a chapter containing many situations declared to form a new premise for action entertainment. A tropic, moon lends for romance between Arlen and Miss Roberts; but ' with the political intrigue of the dark empire and the belligerent natives, their love is beset by a series of exciting adventures. The screenplay pivots most of the suspense around the leader of the rubber slaves. This character, played by Lou Merrill, has built an almost impregnable dynasty in the Amazon jungle. Styling himself after Napoleon, he reigns ruthlessly over his domain with the power of a tyrant. How Arlen dethrones this "Napoleon,” precipitates a screen climax declared to be brimful of emotion. The associate feature “Money to Burn,” is easily the funniest of the Higgins' Family series of adventures, which deal with their attempts to obtain money for nothing and the complications arising from them. James Lucille and Russell Gleason are of course in the leading roles.
