BRIDE-TO-BE

MISS BETTY RYAN HONOURED. Recently Mrs J. Shaw and Mrs Alan Keir tendered a "gift afternoon” to Miss Betty Ryan at Mrs Keir’s home, Kaituna. The spring flower decorations were greatly admired and after tea had been served Miss Ryan opened the many useful present brought, these being accompanied by the good wishes of the assembled relatives and friends. On Thursday evening Mr and Mrs Eric Shaw entertained the relatives and friends of Miss Betty Ryan and Mr W. Fawcett. Pink blossoms and garrifa decorated the sitting room and a cheery fire was much appreciated. An amusing wedding flower competition was won by Miss Joan Andrews. Mr Fawcett expressed the appreciation of Miss Ryan and himself for the good wishes extended to them and for the useful gifts.
