A Ministry of Home Security communique states that shortly before midday, a single enemy aircraft crossed the north-east coast of England and dropped a number of high-explosive bombs. Damage was done to houses and industrial property in a coastal town. There were a number of casualties, one of them fatal. The bomber was shot down into the sea.
