Great Achievement of Royal Air Force MORE BOMBING ATTACKS ON GERMANY INEFFECTIVE ENEMY RAIDS ON BRITAIN . An Air Ministry communique transmitted by Daventry states that the total of German losses in Thursday’s air battle was sixty. The R.A.F. in night operations, attacked the Hamburg’ docks, several aerodromes and supply depots. One British machine is missing. In daylight raids two aerodromes were bombed. One British machine' failed to return.

Three bombers patrolling the French coast near the mouth of the Seine encountered a group of 15 twin-engined fighters. Seven of them broke away to engage the British machines. One German plane was shot down and the other six were driven off.

Two German raids on Britain were reported yesterday. Shortly before noon a German plane dropped bombs on a northeast coast town. The raider was shot down by anti-aircraft fire and fighters. Two dive-bombers swooped down on a southeast coast town. No damage of any importance was caused. The planes were driven off by anti-aircraft gun fire. British aircraft continue to carry out mine-laying .operations in German-controlled harbours and estuaries. This causes serious damage to enemy shipping as well as dislocating shipping services.
