THIRD ECHELON
GATHERING AT OPERA HOUSE TONIGHT. FOLLOWING DINNER AT EMPIRE HOTEL. Sixty members of the Third Echelon will be entertained at dinner at the Empire Hotel this evening by the Masterton District Patriotic Committee. The dinner will commence at 6 o’clock and at 7.30 the men will attend a public gathering in the Opera House, where the speakers will be the Mayor. Mr T. Jordan and Colonel J. H. Irving. The proceedings at the Opera House will be brief, so as to allow those attending the opportunity of proceeding to a theatre in the usual course, if they so desire. The theatre programmes will commence at 8 o’clock instead of 7.45. This evening the men will be the guests of the Masterton Odd Fellows Lodge at a dance being held at the Masonic Hall.
