GREYTOWN

EUCHRE PARTY IN AID OF RED CROSS FUNDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The fifth weekly euchre party held at Mrs Tui Morgan's residence was well attended and again proved successful. The prizes donated by Mrs Parke were won as follows: Ladies. Mrs Tully; men. Mr Brian Spooner iCarterton): consolation prizes, ladies. Mrs Thomas and Mrs Gregor tied. Mrs Thomas winning the prize in the draw; men. Mr J. Morgan and Mr Thomas tied, Mr J Morgan winning the draw. A hidden number prize donated by Mrs McLeod resulted in a tie between Mesdames Keltie, Hobson. Hodge and Miss Roband. Mrs Keltie won the draw.

Supper was served, after which Mr McLeod announced that the takings amounted to £2 10s. which were to be handed over to the Red Cross Society's local sub-branch.

The Mayor, Mr A. W. Horton, president of the Greytown sub-branch of the Red Cross Society, thanked Mr and Mrs Morgan and those present for having assisted such a worthy cause.

Personal. The members of the South Wairararapa Working Men's Club entertained Mr C. Stunell, who is a member of the Third Echelon. Mi’ A. H. Humphrey, on behalf of the members, presented him with a money belt. Mr Humphrey congratulated Mr Stunell on his having joined the forces again. Mr Stunell was awarded the Military Medal during the last war. Milk Supply. Milk is coming in fast at the Greytown Dairy Factory, and on Wednesday one ton of cheese was made. Last season cheese making did not commence till about the middle of August. Trust Lands Trust.

The monthly meeting of the Trustees of the Greytown Town Lands Trust was held last evening. There were present Messrs F. Dennes (chairman), W. H. Day, A. H. York and H. G. Carter.

Accounts passed for payment totalled £l2 7s Bd.

The following charges were fixed for the holding paddock: 1/6 per 100 for sheep, 2d per head for cattle, with a minimum charge of 5s per night.
