MADE LICENSED INDUSTRY. STATEMENT BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The industry of used oil refining has been brought within the licensing provisions of the Industrial Efficiency Act. In a statement today the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Sullivan) said investigations had been made as to the possibility of utilising waste oil. in view of the need for economy during war time. It was considered that it would be in the interests of the community if the industry were put on an efficient basis. It is now necessary for those already engaged in refining to apply to the Bureau of Industry before August 22 for licences to continue in the industry, while any persons who contemplate commencing must first make application to the Bureau for a licence.
