WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING. FINAL ROUND FOR SENIOR COMPETITION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wairarapa Men’s Hockey Association was held in Masterton last night. There were present Messrs G. Hayne (chairman), C. N. Cole. J. Fisher. R. J. Martin, M. Worsfold, the secretary (Mr S. Boor). The resignation of Mr P. Cobb from the Management Committee, through having joined up with the Air Force, was accepted. The Greytown Club’s renewed application for the regrading of two players was fully discussed and again rejected. The senior competition will be completed at the end of the sth round now in progress, and the final match of the round between Hastwells and Carterton is to be played at Carterton. It was decided to play the North Wairarapa v South Wairarapa match at Masterton on August 24, and that donation tickets at sixpence be sold for admittance, the proceeds to go toward the expenses of the Wairarapa College team's trip to the Secondary Schools’ Tournament at Auckland during the term holidays. Messrs J. Fisher . (South) and R. S. Moor (North) were appointed selectors for the North v South Wairarapa' match. In connection with the six-a-side tournament to be held at the end of the season it was decided that the entry fee be 3s per team for all grades, and that no trophies be played for in the senior grade and that the junior and third grade teams play for annual tournament cups. In this connection the junior grade have a cup for competition and a cup is to be purchased for the third grade. The Bannin Shield senior knockout competition is to commence after the North v South Wairarapa match, and the draw for the competition is as follows; Carterton v Wesley, at Masterton; Hastwells v Dalefield, at Carterton. A protest was received in regard to a Carterton junior player-using a stick that was considered dangerous and did not comply with the regulations. It was decided that the matter be referred to the Umpires’ Association to take the necessary action. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY REFEREES APPOINTED. The following are the Wairarapa Hockey Association's senior fixtures and referees for Saturday:— Dalefield v Carterton, at Carterton No 1 at 3 p.m.; Messrs L. Gallon and Adams. Hastwells v Wesley at Lansdowne No 2 at 3 p.m.; Messrs Cole and Hayne.
