OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS

MILK DISTRIBUTION' $ (To the Editor). I was interested in your correspondent's remarks re the new system of milk supply in that he expresses dissatisfaction with it, for I am of the same opinion. I had dealt with one vendor for a number of years who supplied first-class milk and cream, besides being most obliging, and I would have never changed of my own accord. I contend the milk I am receiving at present is not near the same quality, and I also say why should I have the right to choose my own purchases taken away by a Government which has so utterly failed in its administration of the country’s domestic affairs, and which is forcing these things on the people under the cloak of War Regulations, when we know it is only the thin edge of their Socialistic ideology. If we could see a thorough and honest endeavour by the Government to assist Britain in her efforts against Nazism, who would not be prepared to forego all of his liberties if need be? But the liberty of the subject on this occasion has a very different flavour, and 1 was; very surprised to read your remarks on the introduction of the system when you said “the public were taking to .it kindly." I ask you. did wo have any other option?—Yours, etc.. ANOTHER 'MUTT. Masterton. August 7.
