Fruit, Flowers and Vegetables WORK FOR THE WEEK VEGETABLE GARDEN. After a few sunny days, fork over the dug ground lightly, it will then dry much better and be in a condition for sowing. Plant out the autumn sown onions, also potato onions and shallots if not already in the ground. Sow asparagus, broad beans, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, spinach, turnips, parsnips and celery. Plant a few more potatoes and earth up those which are showing through the ground. FRUIT GARDEN. Complete the plantings of fruit trees which have been delayed by wet conditions. Prune the young trees back at planting, by two-thirds. The pruning completed, clear up all the debris, burning it. The stumps of trees infected with silver blight should be grubbed out, not left in the soil. As soon as bud movement is seen in the peaches, spray with Bordeaux mixture at winter strength to combat leaf curl. FLOWER GARDEN. Complete tne pruning of roses, give a dressing of manure and folk over the beds. Plant out pansies, violas, nemesia and stocks for a succession of bloom. Give the final thinning out to annuals sown in the autumn. Complete the planting of liliums as they will soon be starting into ' growth. The pruning of trees and shrubs should be completed and the bordets forked over. Lift and replant box edgings where these have become overgrown.
