GOLD MINING

COMPANY RETURNS. The Argo dredge reports a return for the week ended August 3 of 270 z from 11,500 cubic yards in 133 hours. Una Hill Consolidated Gold Mines, Ltd., has issued the following crushing return: —South end, 30 tons general dirt (from which best stone had been picked), yielded 20oz bullion valued at £l4l. Development continues with gold showing freely in south face. Wellington Alluvials, Limited, reports thEjt during the four weeks ended July 20, the dredge worked 412 hours, handling 230,000 cubic yards of material, and recovered bullion estimated to contain 759 ounces of fine gold. During the period mechanical delays totalling 201 hours occurred, including 140 hours on the bucket ladder suspension.
