NEWS BROADCAST
FOR DOMINION TROOPS IN BRITAIN. ENTHUSIASTIC APPROVAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, August 5. The New Zealand troops in England are enthusiastic over the first tenminute broadcast of news from home, which the 8.8. C. plans to make a fortnightly feature. Mr Darcy Creswell, of Christchurch, read the bulletin, which included an outline of the new legislation particularly affecting the services, a summary of national finance, details of land improvement schemes, recruitment for home defence measures, numerous items of domestic news even the result of a notorious murder trial —also a summary of football results. 8.8. C. officials are of opinion that this is the best Dominion news service thus far broadcast. Tlte Government Publicity Officer in London, Mr H. T. B. Drew, was responsible for the compilation, which was based on a 300 word Government cable, amplified by air mailed publicity material from the Prime Minister's Office.
